[Opinions] Beau

Beau for a boy if you must; Isabeau for a girl, which is distinctive and delightful. Bow as in tie for both.
It's "bow" and it's all male, definitely.
:)

As in bow-tie.
It's our kitten's name. He's male.

I think of little house on the prairie. don't know if that is favorable or un-favorable...

The way I say it, it rhymes with bow.
I prefer it on a male, though I've never been fond of it. It sounds southern-snooty to me.

i LOVE Beau! prn. bow :)
Pretty much the same as Beau unless the next word starts with a vowel and you would pronounce the x as a z sound (le liaison). It's actually a plural form of "beautiful" in French (e.g. "beaux arts"), but I thought it might, as a name, give some distinction from the male name. Actually upon reflection it is rather tawdry.
I'd still opt for Belle.

I pronounce it "bo", as in French.
And I honestly can't see how it could ever be a girl's name. I find it weird enough on a boy, but it has a certain southern feel that I kinda like.

Beau is pronounced Bo, like bow tie. It's a French word (the male version of belle). So I would say for a boy, I know one baby boy named Beau. Or for a girl, Beauregard, nn Beau maybe.
