I think it sounds pretty masculine, and spelling variations can't make it feminine in my mind. Rylee/Rylie just make it look like the mom can't spell.

I prefer it on a boy. But it's not horrible on a girl (spelled Riley). I dislike Rylee, Rylea, Ryli etc. on either sex.

I usually don't like different spellings on common names, but with Riley, I think it's better to use the traditional Irish spelling for boys, leave the trendier spellings for girls.

I don't mind it, but actually prefer the name for a girl.

I absolutely love the name Riley but sometimes I hope I marry someone with the last name Reilly just so I don't have to choose whether to use it on a boy or a girl! Currently Rylie is my #3 girls name and Riley is about my #6 boys name but it always changes. I do really like it though =)

...and my great-grandpa, & my great uncle, & my little brother. :) I always feel like my progenitors are rolling in their graves whenever I meet a little girl with this name (or a cheap misspelling of it).

I think it works equally well for both genders. It doesn't sound especially masculine to me but neither does it sound particularly feminine.

So yeah, it definitely works for a boy, but please don't spell it Rylee or Rylie (I know a couple who named their son Baylee) because it makes the name look more feminine.

It's nice enough, just not really my style. There is a little boy called Riley in my son's class who is a bit of a handful so i guess i think of him, but as i said it's nice enough
