[Opinions] India.
What are you opinions on India? :)
I've heard it several times recently and I'm really digging it.
Are there any other place names you like?
Any combo suggestions?

Its a bit of a guilty pleasure for me - its cute and has a nice sound but I could never use it.
I really like it. I have a cousin with the name. :-) I'm a bit lost for combos, especially when I dislike my cousin's middle name.
I have a special yen for feminine "i" names, and India fits right in. It has the added bonus of the exotic associations of the country / subcontinent. Indira is a similar name I love.
Finding the right mn can be tricky. Some that work for me:
India Mirabel (= miracle in Latin)
India Christabel
India Pascale
India Cecily
India Mary
India Sandrine
India Carys / Charis
India Maris
India Leontine ("LAY-un-teen")
India Celeste
India Gisele
India Marjorie
India Caroline
India Persis (too geographic?)
India Persephone
India Chloe
Sorry for any repeats. Are there any you like here? Anything but another noun as a mn. I dislike names that sound more like phrases than names. (ex: India Ruby, India Rose, etc.)
I saw a set of twins on TV once, Fergus and India. Too cute.

It does have a very pretty sound, but I dislike it as a name. I have lots of friends from the India, and more specifically the Punjab region, and they are always telling me about their trips there to visit family. When they describe the utter beauty, but ridiculous levels of poverty to me, I wouldn't want a child to be associated with that. One day, when I have the money, I will go over with them and see it for myself. I would not, however, want to be named for a place and then have no knowledge of it whatsoever.
Argh, I read a novel once where there was a girl named India and her father called her 'my beautiful little continent'. I was so annoyed at the ignorance!
I don't think I like any other place names, that I know of. Lots of places have common people names that I may like and be unaware of.

I think it sounds beautiful. Better than a lot of place names that can sometimes sound ridiculous.
I love India! Very Gone With the Windish. It's a country name that just sounds great as a first name.
The only other place name that I can think of that I like is Savannah. Come to think of it, I do kind of like London for a boy.
