[Opinions] Alfred, Elias, and Elior
In the past two or three days I have not been able to get my mind off of Alfred. All of the sudden it's like the best name I've ever heard. WDYT? I don't think I would give it a nickname but if I had to I'd probably go with Allie. I finished reading Catcher In The Rye a few weeks ago and there's a boy named Allie, and it really grew on me as a male nickname.
Also, which do you prefer: Elias or Elior? Usually I'd say Elias but lately it's been Elior. And which do you think goes better with Alfred?

Alfred is pretty awesome. Allie for a boy name suddenly strikes me as very postmodern-Victorian edgy. I think I like it even more than Albert.
I like Elias more than Elior. Elior sounds pretty fantasy-novel-tastic, like the name of a sorcerer's apprentice. Which is cool if that's what you're going for, but I'm not in a Merlin mindframe right now I guess!I think Elias suits Alfred in style much better. BUT, if it was ME, I'd go with Alfred and Eli. Ahh, old school cool at its finest.

Yeah, it really struck me that way, I don't know what it is about it! ...Ohhhh waaaait, you know what, I think my opinion of it may be tainted BY a fantasy novel... a character called Lior or something along those lines is vaguely familiar to me... yes, definitely something like that. That's probably where I'm getting the association. Darn that book. Whatever it was.
