Cute
I like this name. It's apparently popular, but not where I am. My BFF likes this name for a future little one, and I told her I would call her Mimi as a little pet form. I think I like it for that reason! :)
Sometimes it does seem a little bit one-dimensional as a name - a pretty piece of fluff and nothing else. But it is very attractive nonetheless.

Mia is one of those names I want to like, but dislike due to my Spanish and Italian experiences. It sounds pretty, but I can't help but just think "my" when I see the name. I have seen lots of combos using that meaning, which makes them sound really cheesy. It is popular, but I've only ever met one Mia and it isn't even her given name, it is a nickname she uses in place of her Cambodian name.
I actually really like Mia. I know a lot of people here on the board don't, but I always have. I enjoy it for its prettiness and simplicity.
I don't think it's TOO popular; it is in the top 100, but I've yet to meet a baby Mia. In fact, I think I've only met one my entire life, and that was back in high school.
Here are some combos:
Mia Josephine
Mia Valentine (perfect if she's born in February)
Mia Helena
Mia Penelope
Mia Primrose
Mia Scarlett
Mia Violet
Mia Noelle
Mia Rhiannon
Mia Juliet
Mia Katherine
Mia Elizabeth
Mia Danielle
Mia Felicity
Mia Robin
Mia Vivienne

Like the sigh in Simon, the me in Mia puts me off; the meaning is also less than splendid. My ... daughter? Wife? Mistake? As a short form of Maria it's OK, but only if the full name is Maria!
I much prefer Maya.

Where I am, it is indeed rather popular at the moment. I don't really like it. I find it whiney (probably because I've heard it so often in supermarkets) and childish. I like it slightly better as a nn for Amelia or Maria or something similar.
Mia Caroline
Mia Genevieve
Mia Isobel
Mia Lily
Mia Vivienne
I think of missing in action when I look at it though.
