[Opinions] Brontë
This was the name of the waitress I had at an Italian restaurant the other day. I though it was wonderfully inventive and nicely literary, but immediately imagined that the poor girl must have endured terrible teasing while a child - she was a bit heavyset, and the similarity between Brontë and Brontosaurus is too readily apparent. But, I still thought it was a neat name :)What do you think of Brontë?

LOL Brontosaurus. :)
Bronte's not that bad - the sound is pretty and it makes me think of moors, but it does seem a bit trendy to me. I have a cousin who named her daughters Bronte and Madison, and as all the other cousins on that side of the family called their children things like Georgina and Philip and Camilla and Hugh, Bronte and Madison really stand out.

It annoys me, but probably only due to personal associations. I've known people to choose the name who aren't even familiar with the literature attached to it. Some people may think this fine, but it makes me uncomfortable.

It's a GP of mine. I like the idea of it, but I think it would be difficult for a child to live with.

Poor girl. Maybe it was a family name. Brontosaurus never came to my mind though.
