[Opinions] Polly?
Thoughts on this name? Not so much as a nickname for Mary, but a name on its own. I have never met one person named Polly in my life, and it does rather have some charm.

I LOVE IT.
Polly is amazing. It's my nickname - completely unrelated to my real name.

Don't like it just because it reminds me of parrots and Polly Pocket toys. lol
I like it a lot, much better than Holly, Molly or the male Wally.
I've met a Pauline who was known as Polly.

It's my new kitten's nickname - his name is Apollo, but I call him Polly sometimes.
It's all right on a person; I wouldn't mind meeting a little girl named Polly. It does kind of make me think of parrots, though.

I really like it
I've never met a Polly either, but I do know a Pollyanna, who often goes by Polly. I think its quite classic actually, and very sweet. I like it a lot!

I like Polly. It's very sweet, and optimistic.
I'm not a big fan. Presumably from Pollyanna, it just seems... oh, I don't know, disgustingly upbeat and rather childish. But I also dislike -olly names (Ollie, Molly, Holly) so maybe it's just that sound.
I've met one Polly. She's my sister's friend and is 16.

I think it's adorable, I've really been liking it lately. The movie "Along Came Polly" gave it a nice image in my mind. :)
It's cute... I like it
I met a Polly once. Her sister was Daisy. They'd be in their 30's by now. I always thought it was the cutest sibling set.
I knew another Polly in school. She'd be in her 40's by now.
My great-grandmother was born Polly. But her family converted to Catholicism and the priest said Polly wasn't a saint's name. She was christened Mary, but I don't know if they called her Polly or not after that. Just a weird Polly story for you.
Sure. Polly is cute and doesn't need a formal name is Molly doesn't. Fair's fair.

I like it!! I think it has lots of charm. It's got an innocent spunk and feistiness to it.
The one thing that gives me pause though is how well it would age - it's great on a four year old and a sixty year old - but I do have some trouble picturing a dynamic thirty-five-year-old surgeon or lawyer with the name Polly.

I think it is cute but only as a nickname. I used to work with a Polly and she was about my age (20) and while it was charming and lovely, it did seem quite juvenile on a young adult.
