[Opinions] Tucker
This popped into my head today...WDYTO Tucker, or Tuck? I like it a lot, but unfortunately there are both the words "tuckered out" and "to tuck (something)", so I'm not sure how usable it would be for a real boy.~ Caitlín

Tucker is an Australian slang word for food. I wouldn't use it. :P

I think it's cute, but because of the word it rhymes with I don't think it's a good choice. I know a woman with a son named Tucker, but he's only 7 now so he hasn't encountered many problems with his name...yet.

I actually love the name Tucker.. but I am not sure that I would ever use it. "Never make someone a priority, who only makes you an option."

Tuck reminds me of Friar Tuck from "Robin Hood" (also, Samantha from "Sex and the City" nicknamed the monk she once lusted after Friar Fuck). So, definitely a no-no. It looks like a hill-billy name anyway.

Funny you should mention this...but my dad and I were just talking about occupational surnames a couple days ago! You know names like Tanner, Chandler, Baker, Archer, Steward, last names that originated from what people did. Some of them are very popular as first names today such as Taylor (Tailor) and Tyler and Carter! A Tucker was someone who worked at tucking cloth. It's okat as a first name but it's not one of my favorites I would propably use Tanner though because it's a family surname for me. :)

I knew a very smelly, mean (and female!) guinea pig named Tucker. That nasty creature is unfortunately what I think of first.Otherwise, I think of the old (mid-90s) television show Flash Forward. One of the main characters was named Tucker; he had a brother named Horace. I loved that show when I was a kid, so that's a good association. Thus, I'm torn on Tucker, but the fact that he could never play the Name Game (Tucker, Tucker, bo Bucker, banana fana fo...) pushes me over the edge towards a no.In theory, I really like Tuck, as in Tuck Everlasting. However, I think Tucker and Tuck both would work better as middle names.Array

A joke...A couple just found out they were going to have a baby. They were discussing names with the woman's mother. The wife's mother first said Carter, and the husband replied it rhymed with farter. Grandma than said "Cooper," and the father replied "Cooper the pooper. The grandmother, undeterred, says "What about Tucker?" The father replies "Tucker the f****er"That's what I think of when I hear the name.
