[Facts] England and Wales 2008 data
No one seems to have posted it on this board yet, but evidently the government statistics office for England and Wales posted their 2008 data back on August 9. The look of the site has been changed; you only get the top ten for the latest year immediately, but you can download PDF files for 2008, 2007, and 1998 that give the top 100 names for those years. So the England & Wales site is a lot more like the one for Scotland now:

Jack and Olivia were #1 for England & Wales in 2008.
Some interesting facts:
Over the last ten years, Kian is the boys' name in the top 100 for 2008 which has risen the most in rank, from 503rd to 67th.
Alfie and Charlie are #6 and #7 in the boys' list, continuing the English love of pet forms as official names which sets them apart from most of the USA.
For girls, Lexi has risen an amazing 4917 ranks since 1998 to be #73 in 2008.
Florence is back in the England and Wales top 100 for girls.
