[Opinions] Angelika?
I posted this on the name facts board, and thought i'd post here too to see what everyone thinks. How would you pronounce the name Angelika?(an-JEL- i-ka) or (ahn-zhe-LEE- ka) or (ahn-je-LEE-kah)Personally, I like all 3, but am beginning to prefer the middle pronunciation. How would you instinctively pronounce the name? Which way do you think sounds best? Which pronunciation sounds more sophisticated? And, what are your overall thoughts on it!? Right now, it's #1 on my list

I work with a girl named Angelika from Poland with the third pronunciation you listed. I think I like that pronunciation the best.

I'd pronounce it either ahn-GE-lee-kah (German) or ahn-ge-LEE-kah (Polish) as it is the German / Polish form of Angelica. Being German myself it would never occur to me to pronounce it in any of the ways you listed, sorry :)
I think it's an ok name.

I pronounce it an-JEL-i-ka.It's okay; I definitely prefer Angela, Angeline, or Angelina. Angelika reminds me of the brat from "Rugrats."

I'm inclined to pronounce it like Angelica. I don't really like it pronounced otherwise, it's sophisticated enough as far as i'm concerned.

I would probably assume it to be a creative variant of Angelica if I didn't look it up, so I could pron it as such (the first one).

Well... ahng-GE-li-kah, but if I knew it was on a girl from an English-speaking country, I'd pronounce it an-JEL-i-ka, just like Angelica. My preferred pronunciation for Angelica is ahn-je-LEE-kah, though. I really don't like this name at all. It sounds clunky and awkward to me, especially the the -lica part.
