[Opinions] Gisèle
I am curious to know the general perceptions people have of Gisèle. Impressions? Combos?Personally I rather like it but it doesn't go with any of my other names very well.I like Gisèle-Béatrix, Gisèle Catherine, Gisèle Caroline, Gisèle Geneviève, Gisèle Marguerite

I saw the ballet Gisele when I studied in Russia, and I couldn't name a girl after her. In the ballet, a duke runs away from palace life (and an arranged marriage) to a village. He falls in love with a girl (Gisele) there, and proposes. A villager who loves Gisele tries to talk sense to her, doesn't trust the stranger. The other fiancee, with a whole hunting group, comes to the village and the truth comes out. Gisele ends up dead, and her ghost forgives the duke, and some spirits kill the other villager, who was right all along.

I like it, but is it practical in the English-speaking world to go with the French spelling? I can see it turned into Giselle without the accent, so I'd personally go with that.

I would only go with the French spelling. The only woman I have ever known with the name spelled it like that also (in the United States).

I like it and Gisella also. Pretty and underused. I think Gisele Beatrix and Gisele Caroline are lovely. What about Gisele Vivienne or Gisele Anneliese?:)
