Story: It is nearing the end of the DW's pregnancy and no one knows the gender if their baby (this was because only 1 person wanted to know the gender and if I told one person I'd have to remember the gender of everyone else's babies). If you wanted to find out then the baby had it's legs crossed and you couldn't find out the gender. Were you upset? Was your spouse upset? If you didn't want to find out the gender did you regret your decision? The rest are for everyone have you decorated the nursery yet? If so in what theme? Does the baby kick alot? Have you gotten any funny remarks from people? Have you had a baby shower? If so how was it? Have you had any weird cravings? Have you talked names yet? Does you DH like talking to the baby? Any other special things they do? How are your coworkers/clients reacting?

And parents?

Oliver and Kody were both equally excited that the baby was coming soon. Both Kody's mother, Katherine, and Oliver's mother, Diana, planned a baby shower for Kody. She was, to be honest, completely shocked because she really wasn't expecting a baby shower, but she was happy nonetheless. They got a lot of stuff that they would need, like blankets, towels, wipes, diapers, onesies, basically anything and everything they would need to help them with a newborn baby. During the end of Kody's second trimester, Oliver painted the nursery. Kody, of course, picked out the very light mint green. She was never one for green, but she liked the green better than the sunshine-bright yellow. Going through the middle of the room is a roll of wallpaper that was patterned in ABC blocks, which Kody found adorable. Every time the baby kicks, she jumps in surprise because she's not ready for it. The baby is a very strong kicker and Oliver thinks it's going to be a soccer player. Or at least enjoy playing the sport. Names so far haven't been discussed. Oliver isn't one for names, and Kody doesn't have the patience to bother with trying to get him to find names he likes. Oliver does, actually, like talking and cooing at the baby. Kody finds it cute but weird at times. Her co-workers are all happy for her, except for the bitter old doctor that hates kids. Go figure he's a pediatrician right? The kids she works with are always extremely chatty with her about the baby, especially the ones with younger siblings. It seems that they want to know everything about the baby.

Jaden is now 8 1/2 months pregnant, and ready to have the baby out where she and Greg can hold him/her. Max is upset because he can no longer sit on Jaden's lap, but Greg recently constructed a cat house for him to climb around in, and Max has made it his new favorite sleeping spot. The nursery is coming along well--Greg painted it sunshine yellow with a blue sky and white fluffy clouds on the ceiling. Jaden absolutely loves it and can't wait to spend some time in the nursery with the baby. They have a conglomeration of wood furniture received from relatives and friends--Greg sanded it all down and painted it white. Jaden has been busy shopping for everything she might possibly need. She had her baby shower six weeks ago, and doesn't have anything else that she needs. The baby has been a very active one, kicking almost all day long. Fortunately she/he sleeps at night when Jaden does. Greg likes to feel the baby kick, and has accompanied Jaden to all of her doctor's appointments. Jaden is currently on maternity leave from her nursing job, and she has up to four months after the baby is born to stay at home.

Avy is having a very hard time getting around. The baby is almost there. She's very nervous about giving birth. Raff is getting more anxious as well. He doesn't like it that he is not sure whether they'll have a boy or a girl, he's afraid he'll be disappointed if it's a girl. Avy doesn't even mind not knowing, she doesn't even care what it'll be, as long as the baby has 10 fingers and 10 toes.
Avy's family has been working on the nursery. Avy is there to help with what should go where and in which colour, but Raff isn't really interested. He actually thinks it's weird to decorate a room for the baby, in his opinion just the crib and a place to change to baby would have been fine in that room without all the little animals painted on the wall. It's not as if the baby will care...
Raff has been taking on extra shifts at the bar. He works every night of the week now, and long shifts at that. Avy isn't excited about this, but since they decided she would stay home for at least six months after the baby's birth, she knows they need to money, so doesn't complain. At the high school where she works her students were getting very excited about their teacher having a baby. And her colleagues as well.
Avy's colleagues organized a baby shower for her, and it really came as a surprise to her. She thought it was very sweet of them to do.
Raff and Avy have a hard time agreeing on names. They're now thinking about Fabian Hugo or Fabian Raven for a boy, and maybe Vianne Ravenna or Verona Vianne "Vera" for a girl, but nothing is certain yet.
It bothers Avy that Raff doens't seem to be very involved in how the baby is doing. He didn't want to come to her check-ups, didn't want to get involved preparing the room and he doesn't want to feel the belly when the baby is kicking. She knew it wasn't his choice to have a baby, but she had expected him to get more excited once he had gotten used to the idea. When her sister had been pregnant, her husband couldn't keep her hands of her belly and sometimes talked and sang her belly as well. She knew Raff would never do that and that made her sad.

Jeff and I are still glad we didn't find out the gender. We believe that if we had found out the gender then one of us would have been dissapointed. When the baby is born, however, we will be too excited and preoccupied to be sad about the gender. We painted the baby's room a very light and neutral green. In the future we plan to add on decorations to make it a safari theme but that idea is still in the works and won't be put to work till the baby is at least a year or two old. The baby likes to kick alot, primarilly on my lower right belly. I love that feeling. We haven't had a baby shower yet because we want to wait until after the babies birth so the baby can be the guest of honor. We still haven't choosen a name but he really likes Yasmine or Madeleine and I like Leah, Anna, or Sarah. But those are for girls. For a boy he like Matthew but I prefer Andrew. Jeff loves feeling the baby kick and talking to him/her. My students, who I love to death, are excited about their new little "classmate" I know they'll miss we when I leave, but they are all so excited to be meeting little baby Harper.
