[Opinions] Clara
I had a dream last night about a little girl named Clara who wore lavender, and insisted on writing her name everywhere in lavender and had a vanity license plate which was lavender and said CLARA. I thought the name was worth discussing. I might start pushing this name on Caroline also.Clara Alice
Clara Catherine
Clara Cecilia
Clara Isabel
Clara Josephine
Clara Louisa
Clara Magdalene
Clara Sophia

I love Clara. It's a wonderful name. From your list of combos, I love Clara Josephine and also think Clara Magdalene is nice.Clara Lavender also makes a nice combo. ;)My personal favorites are Clara Beatrice, Clara Genevieve (my number one Clara combo), Clara Josephine, Clara Lillian (this one always makes me think of Clara Bow and Lillian Gish), Clara Mathilde (although it is a celeb combo - Ewan McGregor's daughter), Clara Melisande, Clara Violet, Clara Vivienne, and Clara Winifred.

I really love the name, as long as it's said Clah-ruh and not like Claire-uh (if that makes sense). Nice meaning, all girl without being OTT frilly, not something you here often. It's a great name.Clara Alice - love both names, but I'm not so sure about together. It's a little awkward.
Clara Catherine - nice
Clara Cecilia - the contradicting meanings would make me smile. I wouldn't put the two together.
Clara Isabel - hmmm...Clara is a bell. It's ok, but you've got nicer ones here.
Clara Josephine - I've never liked Josephine, but it does flow well
Clara Louisa - adorable
Clara Magdalene - ditto Clara Josephine
Clara Sophia - nice. and two lovely meanings together. i think this ois my favourite. How about:
Clara Delphine
Clara Hazel
Clara Imogen
Clara Cecily (I know, the meanings. But I love the sound of this one, where as Clara Cecilia...well, i really don't)
Clara Olivia
Clara Opal
Clara Ottilie
Clara Seren
Clara Jemima
Clara Genevieve

I think Clara is gorgeous and refined without being snobbish. Clara can be a tomboy or Clara can be a Miss Manners. I think it can work for lots of people. I especially love your combos though. You and I seem to have a very similiar style. I like Clara Isabel the best because I think it flows the best out of all of them, though I have to be honest and say I don't dislike any of the combos particularly. I have a hard time coming up with combos for Clara that flow well though.

Out of the combos you have listed, I like...
Clara Catherine
Clara Cecilia
Clara Josephine
Clara Magdalene (Magdalene with a German pronunciation)
Clara SophiaI love Clara, and prefer it to Claire. Clara sounds more dignified, while Claire, as nice as it is could be anybody. I have a baby-doll named Clara Marie. I've had her for almost 5 years now. She's absolutely beautiful...she's in a beautiful white christening gown, and has medium brown hair and chocolate-brown eyes. I have made her the sister of three of my German dolls, named Ludwig, Wolfgang Amadeus and Frédéric...all named after composers.

I recently met a Clara she was around 7 or 8. Her full name was Clara Elizabeth, both names were after grandmothers, Elizabeth isn't just a filler middle name.
I love all of your combos except Clara Catherine I'd spell Clara Katherine. For some reason the double Cs bother me for that combo but not Clara Cecilia.

I had the same thoughts about Clara Catherine and Clara Cecilia.I think the doubles Cs in Clara Cecilia don't bother me because they are pronounced differently. (Uhm, at least I pronounce them differently)

Oh duh, yeah that's probably why. I feel silly for not realizing that. The C is Cecilia is soft like an S so it didn't really bother me.

I like Clara Louisa. How do you pronounce it? I say Clah-rah but I know a lot of people here have said they pronounce it Clair-uh.

I like Clara, but dislike the spelling. I like Klara more. For me it's the "normal" spelling and I could easily name my daughter that. Clara Isabel, Clara Sophia and Clara Alice are all lovely.
