My only fear is that here in the U.S., where the name is virtually unknown, parents would tend to use if for little girls. "But it starts with "Em-." Doesn't that mean it's for a girl?" It drives me bonkers.
I've given up trying to explain that Emlyn is a boy's name. The "-lyn" on the end is too difficult to get through to people. Rhys seems to be holding as a boy's name so hopefully Emrys would as well. But I still fear the encroachment factor.
