[Facts] muh-RYE-kah???
I met a woman a long time ago who was from Europe. Her name was pronounced "muh-RYE-ka" and I think it's a beautiful-sounding name. I'm pregnant now, and my husband and I want to consider using that name for a daughter. But I have no idea how to spell it. Marika? Maryka? Moraika? Are any of you familiar with this name? Thank you in advance!

The name Marika is fairly common in Sweden too. I have personally never seen it spelled any other way than Marika and I like this spelling the best. I guess Moraika is a good alternative spelling though.

I'm not familiar with the name but i think its beautiful. I'd suggest using Moraika as the spelling.

I'm sure I met a girl who pronounced it with 'RYE', but that might have only been a creative idea her parents had.

Marieke wouldn't have the same pronunciation.
