[Opinions] Re: What's your nickname?

Technically, my name is Stephanie Stevie.
I went by Stevie until I was in third grade at which time I choice to be called Stephanie, but I hated being called Steph - and honestly I'm not a Stephanie nor a Steph. So during High School I went back to Stevie.
I don't really care what people call me - friends tend to call me Stevie, while family call me whatever they knew me as most (I don't really care - and honestly I got tired of fighting it...) and I let teachers call me Stephanie, unless they see the "Stevie" by my name on the student list or they finally realize that Stevie S. is the same person as Stephanie S. while grading papers.
My cousin and best friend call me Steffie.
On the net I tend to be Stevie but I sometimes go by Anie just so I can avoid the "I'm a girl" conversation.
When I get older I'll probably be Stephanie professionally and Stevie around friends & such. I could legally be either so it's not a big deal.
EDIT: I probably should also say that I've occasionally been called Steve. Which isn't a big deal since there really is no way to shorten Stevie... Well I guess it could shortened to Vi or TV (I've been called that a few times as well) or even Evie... but no one ever realizes that. lol
