After being childless for many years, Prince Alexander and Princess Jacobine decided to adopt the daughter of a noble family of Eurona, whos parents just died in an accident.
Due to his illness, the King handed over the throne and his title as ruler of the kingdom to his oldest daughter and heir Charlotte who is now the first queen of Eurona in 187 years. The former king was awarded with the title of the highest Lord of Eurona and has retired with his wife Pauline to Kaiwanay Castle in the far north of the kingdom. Charlotte's husband Colombain was named the Prince Consort and their oldest son William is now the Crownprince.
The youngest son of the former king, Prince Johannes and his fiancee Catarina were already making plans for their wedding when Catarina dumped him at a big dinner that both attended. She did so because now that Charlotte was the Queen, she knew that Johannes would never have any chance to become king (making her the queen consort) and she decided to leave him for the second-oldest son of another kingdom, because he has higher chances to be the ruler one day.
The whole royalfamily was shocked by the break-up and while Johannes was hurt and confused, the former queen Pauline urged Charlotte to do something. She annulled the engagement between the two and banned Catarina from Eurona. Since the Cheynes and the Loundays (the Royalfamily in which Catarina now wanted to marry) have a long friendship and partnership, King Lothaire Lounday forbade any kind of relationship between his son and the Lady of Solandra. She had to leave their country as well and now lives in exile. Right now Queen Charlotte is looking for another future bride for her youngest brother.
