Being that my name is Caitlin, I'm pretty biased to pick this spelling. Even with that in mind, Kaitlynn doesn't look as nice as Caitlin nd Katelyn looks like it should be Kate-Lynn, imo. If I had to pick another spelling that I like, I'd say Kaitlin, nd I'm only picking that on an association I have with it nd it's the closest to the original spelling. All the rest are nmsaa.

I did this the other day and came up with nearly 100 ways of spelling Caitlin!! The spelling I like best is Kaitlin. =)

Actually, there used to be a website devoted to Caitlin (et al). It said there were over 125 different ways to spell the name. The most egregious, imo, was Keightlynne.

I do not even know what the proper original spelling even IS. Is there even one?! I think if someone was to ask me to write it out, I might instinctively write "Caitlyn" but I really have no idea. They all look god-awful and wrong to me. I...I try not to think about it. I hate this name almost as much as Ashley.

Caitlin's the best spelling, and as pretty as I think it is, I would never even consider using it because it seems like almost every Caitlin I've ever heard of exists to ruin my life (the only exceptions to that being my friend's sister and a girl who was in my first grade class). Plus, people seem to like it more than Catherine. Personally, I think it they want to follow the Celtic naming trend, use Catriona!

I like it spelled Caitlin, but I wouldn't use it. However, I really like Cateline. I pronounce it KAT-eh-leen, though.

I like the ones that start with C the best- Caitlyn overall- but the only ones that really bug me are the ones that end with the double n.

I am really insanely sick of this name; it's so bland and tired and sugary.
If I had to choose a spelling for it I would choose Katelyn, since it seems like the most logical pairing of Kate + Lyn/Lynn.
Caitlin, to me, is an entirely different name that should be pronounced something like KAHT-leen.

To me, Caitlín is pronounced differently, but without the accent (Caitlin) it's just KATE-lyn to me.

This whole "-lynn"/ "-aiden"/ "-ynn" trend is driving me nuts! They're so sickeningly twee and sugary, and talk about bland and uncreative. This name is tired. There are so many wonderful, classic names out there and we are wasting our time on these jokes?
"Caitlin", the spelling that I would go with, is the English version of the Irish diminutive of "Caitríona", "Caitlín" (KAHTCH-leen/ kahtch-LEEN). Why are we using pet names as given names in the first place?
Why not just Catherine, Cateline, or Catalina? At least they're formal names that can give way to many pet names.

I like the word "twee". I need to remember to use it.
I too dislike Kaitlyn and all its variants. It's very suburban whitebread and I just can't warm up to those names.
