If Ludwig wasn't cool enough, I think he could go by Louis pretty easily. I mean I hope :D

I normally hate normal names on animals; something just tickles me to death about Chris.

Phineas Nigellus Black is what popped to mind to be exact =). I don't think many other people would notice lol.

Maybe just use a more normal mn with Ludwig?
