[Opinions] Your favourite Russian names
I need some Russian names for a book I am writing. So what are your favourite Russian names?
And what do you think of these combos - Anoushka Stanislava 'Anna', Barbara Praskoviya, Dimitri Aleksandr and Vitya Nikolaevich? Nikolaevich is pronounced nee-kuh-LIE-uh-veech.

Interesting cognate of Euphrasia you've got there!
Thanks. I didn't know that. I've got a lot to learn.
I'm not good at Russian names as this proves. Well, the people are Russian but the book takes place mainly in England. It's set around the time of the Russian Civil War. Thanks loads. I'll try to get it right.
There's some info that you can get to from the BtN homepage about names from different countries. Basically, you just add -ovich (evich) to the father's first name for the sons and -ovna (evna) for the daughters. There are a few names with slightly different patronymics. Iliych and Iliyshina for the children of Ilya is the only exception I can think of at the moment. If you look up the names of famous Russians/ Soviets you can get some more examples.
