Effie could go either way for me...for some reason it reminds me of the F word...but paired with Ophelia, it's so cute...almost too cute...or not...so to sum up: it's neat but nms.

I admire Tilly (primarily as a nickname for Clotilda), Edie (as a nickname for Edith), Nell, Kitty (as a nickname for Catherine), Effie (as a nickname for Euphemia / Euphémie), Evie, and Rosie (though I strongly prefer Rosy).

I love Tillie/Tilly, Edie, Kitty, Evie, and Rosie/Rosy.

Edie is cute.
Nell is okay.
Kitty sort of annoys me; maybe for someone really young.
I like Effie.
Also like Evie.
Rosie is okay; sort of like it.
Ally is okay but too modern/popular IMO. I know about 7 of them (most are Allisons, Alyssas, etc.) This is my favorite spelling though; I don't like Allie or Ali as nns.

I really love Edie, Nell (one of my favorite nns), Kitty, Evie, and Effie. I prefer Nell a a nn for Noelle, and Effie for Effemy, however.

I like all the full names except Ottoline. As for the nns, I don't care much for Tilly and Rosie, which seem very childish. I'm also not very keen on Effie, it spoils the gorgeous Ophelia.

Nell, Kitty, Effie and Rosie are so cute!!! Other old fashioned nicknames I like are:

I love Nell, Effie and Evie as nicknames. I like Helena "Nell", Persephone "Effie" (Ophelia is good too, hadn't thought of it) and Evadne "Evie".

I also really like Tilly and Ally (but I prefer it spelt Allie). I have bad associations with Kitty which upsets me a bit because I used to love it and Effie was the name of a satirical TV personality in Australia years ago and I can't get past that association

Love most of them. I wouldn't consider Ally an old fashioned nn though. It's more modern. I don't like it, though I love Alastriona. Don't know what nickname I'd use instead.
