I had been in love with my boss, the editor of my newspaper, for years. I’d never been able to tell him how I actually felt and didn’t want to do anything stupid. When my sister Sophia came into town, I told her there was I guy I liked and she said I should go for it! So, with the intention of telling Peter how I felt, I brought Soph to a party for moral support. I went to go get drinks and, when I came back, I found her already talking to Peter (she had no idea what guy I was actually in love with.). They were talking and laughing and started dancing and flirting, so I took a quick exit and went home.
That first night, Peter and Sophia stayed out really late and enjoyed themselves. For the next three weeks, I watched in agony while my sister dated my secret crush. The heartbreaking moment for me was when they announced their engagement at family dinner-I nearly fainted! They were so in love and I was so upset! As I began to plan their wedding (which would happen in a short month!) I was given the help of the newpaper writer who was covering their wedding profile. His name was Jack Taylor.
From the start, Jack knew something was up with me. As he interviewed my sister and boss, I did all the wedding details. We talked while doing the wedding registry and, while he was increasingly annoying, he finally got the story out of me. I was in love with my sisters fiancce and planning their wedding. Jack was cute, and did have a way with words. As we further planned the wedding together, I realized I had had a crush on Peter; with Jack, I was falling in love!
Sophia and Peter did end up getting married and Jack and I were there, him photographing for the paper and I keeping everything in order. That night, we confessed our love for one another and agreed we’d start dating and not rush things. Though, I know, that night was the night we both figured out we’d be marrying each other in the near future.
