Princess Lys almost succeeded in running off with Duke Karsten the autumn following the coastal getaway. However, Princess Susanne found out about the plan, and with her new found penitents, felt the necessity of telling her parents of the plan. Princess Lys was stopped before she was able to get out of the city. Duke Karsten was no where to be found however.
When Princess Lys told her irate father where she was to meet with Duke Karsten, he sent a few of his best, discreet honor guard to bring him in for questioning. When the guard arrived at the abandoned and derelict old farm house, the Duke was no where to be found. Inside, however, were a group of armed men who attacked as soon as the door was opened. Though the armed men were many, the honor guard was elite and finished them off.
When King Oliver found out about this, he sent his spy master to dig into Duke Karsten's personal life and background. It was found that he had close ties to the Overlord of Anga Maitue. With this threat from the grave, King Oliver felt the need to start digging into the old plots again.
After two years of digging and leads, it was discovered that the Overlord of Anga Maitue was, in fact, not the head of the evil serpent out to destroy the Kingdom of Eriden. There was a secret organization that was after the treasure of Eriden - which only the royal family was even suppose to know about!
There was a small, windowless room behind the throne. The room was empty except for the one door and a small, golden disk set into one wall. The Golden Disk was enchanted, and the true test of whether one was worthy to become the Ruler of Eriden. The disk was suppose to allow the ruler and future rulers (really, any royal family who was worthy loyal and honorable enough to rule Eriden) to view things necessary to the well being of Eriden (if a certain object would be needed, then that would be seen - if a certain event needed to be or be avoided, then that would be seen - etc).
This organization felt the desperate need to possess the enchanted item for their own purposes. The base of operations for this secret organization seemed to be somewhere in the mountains of Anga Maitue.
For another year, everything seemed to move along as it should. And then, on the anniversary of the engagement of the Royal Heir and Princess Meg, another assassination attempt was made by the same nomadic tribe. This time, assassins were sent double to King Oliver, Crown Prince Bastian, Queen Vera, and Princess Meg.
With the new threat, King Trilona almost called off the engagement. King Oliver was upset, but understood. However, Princess Meg was having none of it. She told her father that if he didn't want a "royal tantrum", then he'd better figure something out that would allow her to marry the man she had come to love!
After much discussion and debate, it was decided that it would be easiest to guard the pair together rather then separately. Princess Meg moved into the Eriden castle. After a year, it was decided to allow her to marry according to Eriden custom at 16 instead of having to wait another year.
The wedding was planned for almost a whole year. It was spectacular, and one of the best guarded events in the history of Eriden. Prince Bastian and Princess Meg honeymooned at the coastal retreat. Ten months after the ceremony, little Irene was born. If all goes well, she will be the crown Princess after her father becomes king.
Once again, there are storm clouds on the horizon for the Kingdom of Eriden...

I can't really consider it a story, but I feel like it is the bare bones of a story, and would love to hear what others thing... Thanks!
