It makes me think of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and even though it's just used as a last name there, I always associate it with a guy. So definitely, yeah.

I don't see why notIt's one letter away from Darby, which I associate to be a boy's name. (it's the only time I've ever seen it)

I'm curious to hear what the guys think...Although I'd love to see it and I melt at the name as well, I think it would be a bit unfair to the child. I somehow doubt he would appreciate it. He'd have to be a very good sport to do so. He might get teased, by both sexes in different ways. Plus Darcy does not equal Mr. (Fitzwilliam) Darcy. As a middle name however...perfect!So men on the board, I'd like to hear your opinions on this. Pride and Prejudice is the most romantic story of all time, so you can hardly expect us to think clearly when we get on the subject.

It's all boy to meI can't stand Darcy on a girl. I love it on a boy. I say it's fine. it sounds masculine to me.

Yes, definitely!I love Darcy on a boy and I've seen it on quite a few young boys in recent years, so it's by no means unheard-of. I'd probably choose to use it as a middle name so that the literary associations aren't too heavy for the child, but it works either way.I can't use it myself unfortunately as it clashes with my boyfriend's surname.

It works, and its great. I think of Darcy as a masculine name anyway.

It definitely works...I wouldn't use it for fear my son would hate me because of the Pride and Prejudice reference. When we read the book in my Literature class not one guy read it, and I rather not have a bunch of Darcy-obsessed girls trying to date him xD who knows though, it may work out for him.

A fine name for a boy.

When I think of a male name I would want for my son, I think of something strong and unmistakably masculine, Darcy doesn't foot that bill for me.

It sounds more feminine to me.

I adore itit's second on my list for non-honoring names. I love the sound and the Pride and Prejudice connection. It's fabulously handsome.

Yes, I quite like it on a boy. It makes me think of Fitzwilliam Darcy, so it feels all dark and brooding. Cool.

It's great. Like in Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Darcy I know it's not the the same but I still like it!
