I love Eleanor! I really hope to use it for my own daughter someday :). I think Avery and Eleanor work fine, especially if you use a nickname for Eleanor (Elle, Ellie, Nora, Nellie).
My favorite combo is Eleanor Josephine, which I've actually thought about using. Hopefully your husband's "maybe" turns into a "yes".
