Maris was the name of Niles never seen ex-wife on the show Frasier. I have always kind of liked the name but wondered if that would stamp it somehow.

Oh, okay! I don't think that that is a massive association then if it's just a never-seen character from a television show. I've never watched it myself. I doubt any of your daughter's peers would make the connection. :)
