I like Archibald, and even though I probably won't use it, if I did I might use the nn Archie. WDYT?
Any good combos?
I seriously think Archibald Craven would be a good namesake for a boy named Archibald.

Aww, I like this. I had forgotten about it, but Archibald is nice, and the nn Archie is all right too. I had a combo for it in the MN spot: Hector Archibald. I kind of stole it from a pair of nineteenth-century parents in Scotland, but oh well. It could work the other way around, too.

I had a Scottish boyfriend called Archie once; no doubt he was an Archibald. I like the name - both names actually - much better than I ever liked him. And I don't like nns used as fns. Archibald or nothing! Archie is wonderful and he'd always be called by it anyway.

Who is Archibald Craven?

I don't mind the name. I probably wouldn't use it myself, though I'd admire anyone who would. Archie is a good nickname. I know a few little Archies, but they aren't short for anything.
