Marcus is named in relation to Marcus Aurelius (Roman Emperor and a lovely suggestion by Leo's father) and Kent being Leo's childhood home.

Jude and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our first child, a beautiful little princess! Carrie Marie came into the world on March 10th at 9:34 AM, weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces; 18 3/4 inches long. Since she was born so close to her daddy's birthday, which was March 8th, we decided that we wanted a part of her name to be after him. We were going to go with Callie for Caleb, but we weren't too fond of it, so Jude changed to the two "l's" to "r's", and we got Carrie (which of course, we both love!). Her middle name is for my grandmother, Maria, and for my mother's middle name, Mary. Carrie is such an adorable little angel, always has a smile on her face, and has such a great personality. She's definitely a mommy's girl, which is fine with me, but she loves her daddy a lot to. Jude and I couldn't be happier with the newest addition to our family. Welcome to the world Carrie...Daddy and Mommy love you very much!

Jude and I are so proud to introduce our first child and beautiful baby girl, Gabriella. She arrived two days ago, though she wasn't due for another week! She weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was a healthy 21 inches long. She looks just like her father, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Ella's name came pretty easily to us. We had already agreed to use part of Jude's name, and Gabriella fit perfectly. Kate is after my best friend, who recently passed away.

Sarla burst through the bedroom door one afternoon with an EPT test waving in her hand. “Kai, Kai!” She dissolved to giggles on the bed. “Look!”
Kai’s eyes lit up his face. “No way!”
Sarla nodded. “Yes!”
“No way!”
“I’m serious!” she piped hysterically and showed him the results of the test.
The two of them flopped on the bed next to each other and Kai covered her in playful kisses. Since being married a year ago the young couple had thought of little else than starting their family and now their wish was coming true.
Soon the entire family knew. Of course everyone thought they had the perfect name for baby Valerius, but Sarla and Kai paid them no attention. They knew what they wanted to name their baby’s name to be-something to do with Ireland since that was their heritage and something to combine both of their names, as a way of binding the two of them together.
Kai rushed to St. Marina’s Hospital (ha! St. Marina’s and they’re in Northern Ireland) with Sarla and within a few hours he was holding his brand new baby daughter, Yonca Sarai.
The newest addition to the Valerius family was a joy for the whole family who had come from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Germany for the occasion. Though none of them understood her name, they all agreed it was a very suiting name after hearing about why it was chosen.
“We wanted to name her something having to do with Ireland.” Kai explained. “And Yonca means “clover”; it’s like a shamrock.”
“And Sarai comes from our names.” Sarla smiled beaming at her baby. “S-A-R from my name and “A-I from Kai’s.”
Ack! If I don’t stop here I’ll type all night! Draw your own conclusions..hehe.

Eli and Lydia are thrilled to announce the birth of their first child! Eliana Megan was born on September 18th at 9:00 am. She was eighteen inches long and weighed 4 lb. 13 oz.. Eliana was named for Elijah and is a beautiful baby who looks just like him. She loves to make noise and doesn't like when its quiet. Because of Eliana's being born, Eli decided that the family needed to move out of the commotion of the city. He and Lydia bought a small 3-bedroom cottage in a suburb that they can build on to later if need be.

Mila is a name we both love because it sounds "exotic" and somewhat unusual. Katerin is a combination of Kai, Tristan, Rees, and my confirmation name Kateri. Forms of the name Katherine have been in my family for generation and is a tradition for the oldest daughter.
* Kaia is also a nn for Katherine so we think it is neat that everything connects.

Our little girl was born on a very dark and rainy night so we named her Amaya "night rain" in Japanese. We wanted to give her a middle name with something from our name and it needed to fit with Amaya so we choose Mariko, also Japanese, the Mar part is from my name and the Iko part is from Makaio's name. We love her very much, she's a delightful child :)

There is a tradition in Andy's family that the first born child is always named after their father, so seeing as Andy's middle name is Gabriel, we've named her Gabriella. Her middle name, Lauren, is in memory of a dear friend of mine who died almost two years ago.

Caspian and I had been married just over a year when I found out I was expecting. It came at just the right time too, I had just finished my courses at the local college and was really longing to have a baby. How surprised we were when the doctor told us we were expecting two! Yes, twin baby boys! And it was perfect as far as names went because we had two names in mind and couldn't really decide which one to use first. We wanted to continue the 'Chronicles of Narnia' theme and there were two more kings of Narnia who were main characters in books: Tirian & Rilian! We fell in love with these two names and were so happy to be able to use them at the same time! For their middle names we turned to my Irish background and chose two names from Irish Mythology: Laoghaire (Leary) & Diarmaid (Dermot.
I had a fairly smooth pregnancy and the twins were born right on time. It was harder than I thought but we made it through it, I think, poor hubby's hand may never be the same again! :)
Our darling baby boys look just like their father dark brown curls, and pretty blue eyes! They are so adorable, and in perfect health. We were so happy to bring them to our little home with the white picket fence! Life is perfect!

Rufus and I welcomed our little Sari into the world on November 18! (Grandma was a bit sad at this--she was hoping the baby could share her birthday!) She was named for my sister and dearest friend, Sara, and of course for her papa. It's tradition in my family that the first child is given the husband's middle name as their middle name, regardless of the sex of the baby. Rufus liked that idea, though unfortunately, it's next to impossible to feminize the name Isaac! We tried--Isaakina, Isaaca, Isaacine...in the end, Sarita Isaac was the one that sounded best.

Sari, Rufus, and I are now chilling at home, getting used to these new arrangements. Rufus got paternity leave--I love that it's offered now!--and so we're one happy little family. There have been visitors every day, it seems. Everyone wants to welcome Sari to the world--particularly her Aunt Sara, who seems to like babies much more than she said she did. Sara has pronounced Sari "the second-cutest baby in the world"...after herself, naturally.

And I think it's true. Sari has dark hair, like Rufus and Sara, and her nose isn't nearly so ski-jump-like as mine. She's still got that newborn space alien look, but it's going away and leaving a very beautiful baby! We're saying Sari to sound like "sorry," if you're curious.

We've just had our first AND second child! Yep that's right, twins! We're thrilled to welcome Etienne Raven and Henri Zeus. Both born at a birthing center with the help of a midwife of course.

The names were an issue for us. I had always wanted to honor my mother and French roots when I had children. I really pushed to use French names. Leo wasn't crazy about the idea at first until I suggested Henri in honor of his late Grandfather Henry. And I picked Etienne, it was the name my mother had wanted to use if she ever had a son, but instead she had three daughters! She cried when I told her little Etienne's name. The middle names were all Leo's idea. He always wanted to use unusual names. I allowed him to choose those since it seemed only fair since I was able to pick the first names.

*I don't know if Raven and Zeus are mystical enough but they're the first names that came to mind. Oh and wanted to add that everything here really is fictional, I don't have any French roots or two sisters! I'm just making this up for my characters as I go.

Leo and I are so excited to be introducing our new additions to you! Leo jumped for joy when they announced that we had not one, but two sons. As we had decided, he'd name the boys and I the girls. He has always loved the name Sirius and was pleased to use it along with Severus, he found the names perfect with his middle name Remus, all of Harry Potter fame. (When I pointed out that poor Severus might feel an outsider with the two Marauders he said that was only at Hogwart's. Oh my.) As for middle names he found great pleasure in being able to include his two other great loves, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Echuu is a Jedi warrier who is trained by Mace Windu and Eomer from Lord of the Rings fame.
