It's odd, but this is the fourth time in what feels like only two week that there has been a question about wanting to use nicknames as full names. Has anyone else noticed this?
No, they do not work as full names. They are cutesy (do you really want to be Lexie all of your life?) and cutting straight to nicknames limits what the bearers can call themselves (Would you rather be just Katie or Katherine with half a dozen nicknames to choose from?).
