Help[Opinions] Oisín
Oisin has been one of my favorites for a long time, but I never really consider it because I think it would be an issue for people around here to pronounce it correctly. Should it stay GP? Is it usable as a fn, or should it be strictly a mn? WDYT?

I know a boy named Oisin. I live in the Midwest (in a major city with a lot of people of Irish heritage), so far, no problems. I think its an awesome name.

I really love Oisín. It's an awesome name I want to use someday, though it is quite popular where I live. It's always sounded really cool to me and I would use it as a first name. I can understand that it might be mispronounced in other countries, but hey, people can learn the pronunciation (considering that most common "English" names today where originally borrowed from other languages, it's not too much to ask people).

I like it a lot - it's used to be a firm favourite till it got so, so popular here.

I've been really digging Oisin lately. Like it could be on my PNL soon.
I think there would definitely be some pronunciation problems using it in the US, but I don't think that should stop you from using it. I think it's one of those names that when people find out what it is they'll be like, "Oh, cool!" There are tons of kids out there now who are at least going to have to spell their name for people all the time.
