I was a bit surprised when I saw Avalon listed on this site. I didn't know anyone had this as a name. I think I really like it now, as a girl's name. It's pronounced ahv-ah-lon where I live. It's much better than Heaven, imo. What do you think of Avalon? Would it work as a name?

Avalon has a pretty sound to it. But there's something cartoon-ish about it for me. I prefer Afton, Arden or Evelyn.

It makes me think of a prestigious private school. However, I don't see how it could *not* work as a name. I think I'd like it better as a middle name.

I like it. It doesn't really sound like a name to me, but it'd be interesting to see on a child.

It's one of my GPs. I really like it a lot, but wouldn't use it as a first name in real life. Maybe a middle name.

I love it!!! It is one of my favorite names, and if I ever have a daughter, I'm seriously considering it for her. Definitely better than Heaven!
