[Opinions] Re: Nicknames
in reply to a message by I_Love_Jesus
I'm not into nicknames, so I tend not to use them. If I had a Charles or Victoria, they would be Charles or Victoria to me most of the time. I refuse to waste time and energy, however, fighting natural, common nicknames. It's not worth it, imo. It wouldn't bother me a bit if my son was Charles to me and Charlie to my husband and the rest of the world. I would only correct people with an "it's Charles, not Charlie" if my son hated the nickname and asked for my help.
This is why, even though I'm not a nickname person, it's important to me that names I choose have nicknames I can accept.
