Japanese names aren't ones that have particularly struck a chord with me. I think some of them have a good sound but if I like one, it is likely because it accidentally coincides with another name I chose in a different context, if that makes sense.
My brother's girlfriend is Japanese and her name is
Mami, for example. She has opted to go with a more English-familiar pronunciation and now says it to sound like
Mamie. I love
Mamie. And now
Mami. :-)
I like
Haruna in a similar way. Rightly or wrongly, it strikes me as seeming like a feminine variant of
Harun, which I love. So it is Japanese and I do like it, but the latter isn't at all influenced by the former.
So long story short, I like
Mami and
Haruna but that is more or less my way of cheating at this question. ;-)
