It depends on the name. Most of the names on my list don't have nicknames I like much, so I don't think I'll be using them (though I may have personality-based nicknames-- I'll have to meet the child first)
Some that do:
Mordecai "Cai" and Leopold "Leo"
Helena might be Laney while she's younger, Rosalie might be shorted to Rose from time to time, and Vivienne might sometimes be called Viv. But Cai and Leo would probably always be called Cai and Leo.
I'd also call Ashley either Ash or AJ (or by one of his middle names), if he has issues with his name. But I hope he won't.
