I'm not fond of it. I just don't like the way it sounds, I guess. I'm not fond of Ann or Anne either, to me they're just so plain and boring.
I'd use it as a nickname for Anne, if I had to use it. It could also be a nn for Annabel or Anastasia or Annette, I suppose.
My mother-in-law is originally from Belgium and her name is Anny. She says that in Belgium Anny is pronounced so that the first syllable rhymes with John, but here in the U.S. people pronounce it the way they do Annie and she hates it. Just a sidenote.
