I like Carissa. My first impression of someone named Carissa is a tall, mature girl with wavy blond hair.
I like Caris too but I prefer Carissa. Carysa wouldn't be too bad for a variation, but I still prefer Carissa. I don't like any of them spelled with a k.
I don't think they would be strange for a mother and daughter. I know a mother and daughter named Lorna and Loren, and nobody thinks it is wired (although they do gwt called by each other's name occasionally.)

I much prefer Caris over Carissa. Carissa sounds very juvenile, lacy, and fluffy to me, while Caris sounds stronger. Caris will age better than Carissa. I usually like Cs more than Ks; this is no exception.

I don't think Caris or Carissa is too similar to be the daughter of a Christine/Chris. I rather like the way that there's a hint of connection between the two names, but they are still distinctly different.

Caris makes me think of a lively, curious, outgoing girl while Carissa makes me think of someone dreamy and cautious - two very different impressions! They both make me think of someone quite young, but also work on older people. I imagine someone with dark hair and blue eyes.

I know a girl named Kharis. I don't particularly care for the name though, I like Carissa better although it's not my style.

I like Carissa. It is pretty and it doesn't seem as princessy and snooty as the similar Marissa and Larissa. It is uncommon but doesn't seem unusual and is easily recognisable as well which is great in a name IMO.

I prefer Caris- I generally like simpler names. Caris is short and sweet and I love the meaning. I prefer Carissa to Karissa. The C looks prettier to me and the K makes the name look a little trendy. Carissa looks more classic to me. I think I like Caris and Karis pretty much the same though. I would prefer Charis or Carys to both though.

Carissa looks like Clarissa with something missing to me. And I've never been a huge fan of Caris, though it has a nice meaning/history. I don'think either is too close to Christine or Chris.
