[Opinions] unusual pronunciation of Sophia...
I really love the middle english pronounciation of Sophia, so-figh-a (rhymes with higher), the same was as Maria used to be pronounced like Mariah in the english speaking world. I really want to use this name, but i have no idea of the best way to spell it so that people don't instinctively say 'sophia'. Hm! Suggestions? I've looked all over the internet but can't find a name or even a word in another language that is pronounced so-figh-a which i could substitute, as it's the sound i like. Sapphire is not a suitable alternative!

Probably 99% of the time people will pronounce it the common way regardless, unless you manipulate the spelling so much that they no longer recognize it. May as well just use Sophia or whichever spelling you like best and get used to explaining it to people =)

I used to know a girl called Sapphia (sa-FIGH-a). I love the name, but was never sure whether it was supposed to be a form of Sophia or Sapphire. I like it a whole lot better than both.

Sofiah, maybe, or Sophiah. Like Maria/Mariah

How about Soraya ("sor-RIE-uh")?

Sophaia, maybe? Sofiah? Sofaia? Sofaya? Sophaya (like Soraya)? I personally kind of like Sophaia and Sofaia. That's a kick-ass pronunciation; I like Mariah MUCH better than Maria as well.

Try Sofiah, similar to Mariah. That's a pretty cool pronunciation, BTW.
