[Opinions] Avery for a girl?
Replies
"Aviary and ovary", comes to mind.
When I was in high school, back in the 90's I went to school with a girl named Avery. At the time this was very unusal. The name was so obscure to me that I didn't even realize it was a boy's name. I remember thinking it was a really cool name. Now Avery on a girl is sort of trendy, but I understand the appeal. I think it's rather cool that I knew a girl Avery who is ahead of her time!
I also went to school with girls named Gavin and Arwen.

I don't particularly like it for either gender, but it feels androgynous enough to work for a girl.
I find it tiresome.
I think it's terrible on a girl. It used to be my favourite boy's name and it's completely masculine. Ending in EE sound ≠ automatically girl's name.
It's completely masculine to me.
