It is 1905.
The Bennett family has grown by two members! Rose Elizabeth Bennett was born on April 2, 1901, just after her sister's first birthday. A son, David Caldwell Bennett, was born a few years later, on January 29, 1904.
The Bennett's still live in the same little town that Luke and Sarah grew up in. Luke had the grand idea a few years ago to quit working at his father's store (his younger brothers wanted to do it anyway), and open up a horse farm. He has been successful so far, but doesn't have much stock. He rents horses out to people travelling through the area, but is also trying to gain a reputation as a horse trainer. Sarah likes having the horses around, but sometimes wishes that Luke wouldn't choose such dangerous project horses to train. In the course of three years, he's broken his arm, been stepped on and bitten numerous times, and was once knocked unconscious by a bucking horse for nearly eight hours. The doctor diagnosed him with a concussion.
Laura is five years old now. She is a darling little girl, with blond wavy hair and bright green eyes. She likes to play with the other neighborhood children, and can't wait until she can go to school next fall. Rose follows Laura around everywhere, and is pretty much inseperable from her. Rose likes to be outside, but is also showing interest in sewing, like Sarah does. David isn't walking yet, but he's crawling around a storm, and is much loved by his little sisters.
