Hm, the 'er' makes me think masculine, but clovers in general I see as feminine - so I guess imo it's rather unisex.
It's a pleasant word with a pleasant association. I like it, though I'd never use it myself.
I think a combo like May Clover or April Clover would be cute :P But I'm sure others would say it's too cutesy. I prefer it as a mn as opposed to a fn.
