This depends on which language you are thinking in.The traditional English pronunciation is ee-LIE-iss (or often closer to uh-LIE-iss).However, a lot of the boys being given this name in the US today are Hispanic, and the Spanish pronunciation, I believe, would be closer to eh-lee-iss, though I am not sure on which syllable the accent would fall.

And in South AfricaAfrikaans-speaking South Africa that is, it's EEuh-lee-us. (One of the main differences between Afrikaans and Dutch is that the Dutch don't diphthongise their long vowels.)
