[Opinions] Re: Greek and Roman Mythology

My favourites:
Achilles - I love this one.
Ajax - I must say I like this one. It's like the new/old evolution of the ever-popular "Jack"
Atlas - I like this but fear that any Atlas would constantly be educating the ignorant about his mythological name and that he wasn't named after a book of maps OR a bodybuilding company.
Caligula - This one I would steer clear of...evil/crazy Emperors are a heck of a namesake!
Jove^ - I am fond of the strength and simplicity of this. I'd pronounce it just like it's spelled, like "By Jove, I think he's got it" because that is how everyone else would. Is it wrong of me to think it would make a kick-butt girl's name too??
Odysseus - Looove it
Paris* - Sorry, but the Hilton socialite has ruined this one for me forever :(
Patroclus* - I am surprised at how much I like this. It's like Patrick...but classical.
Zephyr* - Adore it, it looks like the name of a future avant-garde artist or something :)
Girls
Aurora
Camilla - Both Camilla and Aurora are such classic beauties.
Carya^* - Lovely, but looks a tad too trendy for me to appreciate it fully.
Circe - Once I figured out how to correctly pronounce this, it became a GP for me. It positively rings with ancient magic.
Clio - One of my faves...it saddens me that I could never use it because it is so similar to my own name, it would look too cutesy.
Dido* - The singer helped me to discover an appreciate this name. At first, I thought it looks clumsy, but it's got a quiet grace to it.
Felicitas - This is gorgeous. I find myself a little annoyed at the sugary character of Felicity, and somehow Felicitas keeps the femininity and adds edge and strength. May I steal this??
Hero - I LOVE this name. I think it would be an AWESOME middle name, paired with something classy and old-school: Aurora Hero, Camilla Hero, Imogen Hero.
Io - Another LOVE! And I feel this one too would be an amazing middle name. The fact that it is of unknown meaning makes me so sad, though. I wonder if I would be brave enough to use it as a first name...
Luna* - CRAZY about this name!! It's so poetic and yet so modern sounding.
Medea* - I hear ya on the bad namesake dilemma. It is a lovely name, but such an awful story.
Vesta* - I really love the quiet beauty of this name, along with Hestia as well.
Vulcan* - for a girl? This one seems undeniably boyish to me. In fact, it's almost over the top manly...like naming a child Cannon or Trigger is.
Xanthe*- Adore it!!
