[Opinions] Persephone or Pilar?
Which do you prefer + why? Thanks!

Pilar, because it looks and sounds nice without being confusing to pronounce.
Pilar is awkward for me, because I would constantly be prronouncing it as the word "pillar". Persephone has such a lovely, whimsical sound to it.

Does my vote count three times? lol.
Persephone is too long, too pretentious, and lends itself to the nn Percy, which is sort of charming on a boy, but on a girl just conjure "pursed lips" or purses.
Pilar is elegant and unusual (in usage, at least in the U.S., and in structure, since there are so few girls names that end in -ar/-r). The meaning is lovely (the pillar is a wonderful religious symbol). Pilar can be paired with almost any name--I really think it's one of the easiest names to use in a combo. It lends itself to the adorable nn Pili, or, alternatively, Lara.
In short, go for Pilar!

Pilar reminds me of pilaf rice, which is a fairly constant part of my working life lol. Also I think Persephone has a much prettier set of sounds.

Persephone I like in theory, but on an actual person it becomes too much and a bit pretentious. I'd rather meet a Pilar than a Persephone.

Persephone. I never understood how Pilar could ever become a name.
I agree with this. Pilar really isn't nice sounding, even if it is a legitimate name.
Persephone.
