[Opinions] Ellie??
what mn would you put with Ellie and if it is used as a nickname for another name what would it be??
Replies
I really like the nn Ellie, but I would never use it as a fun name. I like Eleanor and Eloise, Ellie is easily derived from those. Stella can be nn Ellie I suppose too.
...is my niece
Her real name is Elizabeth Claire. When we're not callin her Ellie we call her E.Claire (eclair ;p ).
Okay, only I call her E.Claire.

Haha, E. Claire...
One of my friends is named Elyssa Claire, and everyone used to call her Eclair when she was younger (mostly to annoy her). Her dad still does.

MN ideas:
Ellie Claire
Ellie Simone
Ellie Constance
Ellie Patience
Ellie Maeve
Ellie Victoria
Ellie Gwendolyn / Gwendolen
Ellie Guinevere
Ellie Miranda
Ellie Rebecca
Ellie Cassandra
Ellie Joanna
I especially like Ellie as a NN for Eliora and Ellia (ELL-ee-a). I'd most likely use Ellia. It's a family name.

I was just thinking about Ellie last week. Personally, I'd go for something like Eleanor Sophia, nn Ellie.
Other possibilities:
Elaine, Elena, Elina, Ellen
Elizabeth
Eliana
anything with 'elle' such as Arielle, Marielle, Gabrielle, etc.
anything with 'ella' such as Ariella, Mariella, Gabriella, etc.
anything with the 'el' sound such as Penelope, Helene, etc.

I would only use it as a nickname, it's far too childish and insubstantial for an adult.
Ellen
Eleanor/Elinor
Eleonora

Elain

Since Ellie doesn't have a lot of substance, I'd pair it with something more classic, like Ellie Catherine. I think it's a cute nickname though. It's one of my favorite nicknames for Elizabeth. It could also be a nickname for any other El- name, like Ellen, Eleanor, Eloise, Elaine, etc., or for ane -elle name, like Danielle, Michelle, Gabrielle, etc.
thank you so much.. i never thought of using an -elle name.. or Elizabeth thanks
