According to W. Seibicke (Historisches Deutsches Vornamenbuch) TIMOR is taken from the Latin vocabulary word for "fear." His explanation: In Psalm 111:10 it says, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. In the Vulgate this reads: Initium sapientiae timor Domini.
Alternately TIMOR could be a variant of TIMUR. "Temir" means "iron" in a Turk language.
