[Facts] Emöke
Today i saw a german tv show and they interviewed a woman with the name "Emöke". Her surname was german. Is it a name from nothern Germany?

According to W. Seibicke (Historisches Deutsches Vornamenbuch), Emöke is a Hungarian pet form of the name Emö which means "to suckle, to wet-nurse, to draw milk".
It's a Hungarian name spelt Emőke. Here's the Hungarian Wikipedia article on it: http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emőke. I guess the person interviewed has roots in Hungary somewhere or only one parent is Hungarian.
