1909: We had a tragedy this year. Our little Sammy died of Polio. We miss him every day. We have also welcomed two new children to the family in the last few years, Perry and Miriam. Len, Agnes, Perry and Miri were all very, very sad to see Sammy go. He was so full of life!
1914: The whole family relocated last year to an army base in Texas. Wally is in the army to protect our country. Right now, he's in training and is learning how to use planes. What a neat new invention they are. He will possibly be jumping out of them! We will definitely miss him. He is leaving in three weeks to be stationed in Germany.
1920: Recently, little Josie became very ill with chicken pox. She ended up in the hospital for two weeks. Thankfully, none of the other children got it because they had it before she was born! Everyone is well again. Also, Len has gotten married! He and his new wife, Marjorie, welcomed a baby boy, Wesley, about a year ago. The kids just love being aunties and uncles! And we love being grandparents too! :]
1925: Recently, we have had many new additions to the family! Just five years ago, we welcomed Wes. He is now six, and the big brother to Sylvia and Clayton, whom we call Clay. Also, Agnes married a lovely man, Martin Grant, and they have two girls, Beverly (Bev) and Lena. We are so proud of all of our children! Perry will be attending Texas A&M University next fall. We are all happy and excited for him!
1930: Everyone has grown. Perry and Miri both graduated from college with great grades. Perry is now an accountant and Miri just graduated and is going to be an elementary teacher. We have welcomed SO many new grandkids! And the ones we had already are getting big! Both Wally and I celebrated our 50th birthdays in the past few years. We were so excited to have everyone in the same place, our home, in Austin, Texas. We moved off the military base, obviously, after Wally was done with the military in 1919. We loved the city so we still live there. Len and his wife Marjorie, and the kids, Wes, Sylvia, Clay and Bobby, live a few hours away in Houston. Len works on airplanes with the government and Marjorie stays home with the kids. Aggie and her husband Marty live with their four gorgeous girls, Bev, Lena, Ellie and Sarah in Mississippi, where Marty is from. They are able to make it down on all of the holidays and for three weeks each summer. Perry recently married his college sweetheart, Clara, and they welcomed a baby girl, Maggie Lorene. They have stayed nearby. Lastly, the final one to get married was Miri, who married her boyfriend Johnny. They are happily living nearby as well, and hope to have children soon!
