The Garza family lives in Lancaster, PA. They have an Hispanic origin, but are all American citizens. Rafael and Aida have six children, in addition to one grandchild. Rafael’s parents are also living with them. Rafael works as a chef in a restaurant nearby. Aida is a beautician. Fabio and Esme, Rafael’s parents are retired and help take care of the kids. Felicia is seventeen. She and her boyfriend, Mike, have a son named Danny. As soon as Felicia turns eighteen, she and Mike intend to get married. Felicia has dropped out of school to care for Danny full time, and she hopes to Mike will support both of them once they are married. Mike is a sophomore in college. He is studying graphic design. Ricky Garza is thirteen. He is outgoing, but a bit rebellious. He enjoys skateboarding and playing the drums. Tina is ten. She wants to be an actress or a singer someday. Sissy likes tagging along after Tina and can be quite a nuisance. She keeps her grandparents on their toes, but is currently taking dance lessons so she has some way to burn off her energy. Ana is five. She is a quiet little girl who likes playing by herself and is particularly fond of tea parties. Nio is three. He is an active toddler who goes to preschool three days a week. He is particularly fascinated with Danny and has come to regard him as a little brother instead of a nephew. The Garza family also has several pets: Daffy and Daisy are Siamese cats. They have not produced kittens for a long time, but are quite affectionate towards each other. Pluto is the dog. He is a mutt that Ricky brought home one day. He gets along well with the other pets, though he did eat Marvin the Mouse when he got out of his cage one day. Bugs is the rabbit. After the incident with Martin, the Garza family made sure that he is always supervised when out of his cage.
