Dorothy is coping since the loss of her husband 6 years ago. Her Maurice has been running the families Tabacco farm, which is doing well because people still smoke despite the lack of money going around.

They together have one son, named Rufus Michael, in honour of Katie's first husband.

It was while on mission in New Zealand they adopted their daugther, Emma. While in Australia they had another son, Hyrum. They have since decided to settle in Australia.
