Message: "Raphaela" - Behind the Name

Since I thought of the name Raphael for my male equivalent, and since it's a name I've never really considered before, it made me think of Raphaela. What are your thoughts on the name Raphaela? Do you think it's too masculine? Can you think of any combos with it?

I was thinking-

Raphaela Georgette (zhor-ZHET)
Raphaela Georgine (zhor-ZHEEN)
Raphaela Gwendolen

For some time, I've liked the idea of using Raphaela. I love the association with St. Raphael and the meaning of the name. The spelling I like is Raffaella because I use it as part of a strongly Italian sibset, but most people tell me that they think that this spelling is too much.

I don't think that Raphaela is too masculine, but people are always say to me "I like it, but I prefer Raphael," which gets a bit annoying after the fifth time.

I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you or not, but with my very Italian Raffaella, I would use Giustina, Berenice or Antonia as a middle name.

Raphaela Georgine is nice.

That helps quite a lot ^-^ I think I'll be looking at some Italian names to go with Raphaela. I like Fiore with it, though I think the f sound might be too much. Thank you!

I adore masculine Raphael, but for girls I prefer Rafaela. It just looks cleaner to me. As for combos, I think something a little simpler would keep Rafaela from becoming pretentious.

I prefer the spelling Rafaela.

It's a beautiful-sounding name, which doesn't sound too masculine to me. The meaning is also lovely.
